31 Gospel Patrons
The Project
After writing Gospel Patrons, a book telling the historical stories of men and women who financially supported major Christian movements, author and speaker John Rinehart wanted to continue the story with 31 Gospel Patrons. This book interviews modern day patrons from diverse professions and backgrounds sharing their stories on becoming patrons of the gospel.
My Contribution
>> My role as the sole artist and book designer spanned from concept to print, working directly with the author and printing house to develop the book’s identity while keeping it aligned with the first book (Gospel Patrons). Together we developed a look that blends the aesthetics of visual heavy art books and minimalistic biographies.
>> I designed the book layout (including cover and dust jacket), which required seamlessly integrating the texts of thirty-one interviews with portraits and over sixty hand-drawn illustrations throughout the text. I did all illustrations except for six of the portraits.
>> Worked directly with the print house and went to the location in Italy to oversee production, approve copies, and select materials.
